Page One annual assessment was hold on 25th September 2011, SRK (C) Foon Yew 1. There are about 600 students take parts in this year assessment. The children were excited to attend the assessment. They are independently expresses their creativity on their own uniqueness stories.

The panel of judges comprised Mrs. Shee Bin Qing, a Psychology Caunselor, Encik Yahya Mohamed, a well-known local artist and Puan Noralisa Abd.Rahman, curator of Johor Art Gallery.

It is also co-organizer with Malaysian Artist Society and Central Kedah Art Society. It was officially opened by YB Dr.Boo Cheng Hau (Johor State Assemblyman for SKUDAI DAP, Johor State opposition Leader, DAP Johor State Chairman. It also attended by our valued parents, teachers and children. Our main activities are:

The opening ceremony of “Simfoni Warna” Pameran Seni Visual antara Sekolah – Sekolah Menengah Daerah Johor Bahru 2010 was held on 9th October 2010 at Johor Art Gallery. It was officially opened by En. Md. Hasidin bin Haji Zaini from Ketua Sektor Pengurusan Sekolah, Jabatan Pelajaran Negeri Johor. He was accompanied by Tuan Haji Jama bin Johan from Yayasan Warisan Johor, Tuan Haji Shadan bin Rahmat from Ministry of Tourism Malaysia of Johor State, our principal Puan Oh Moo Tan. It was very grateful to have the panel of judges, students, teachers and parents gathered here to give their support of this event. Besides, we were also having a prize giving ceremony for the Excellent Schools, Gold Award students and participants. “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”.

KOTA TINGGI HISTORICAL MUSEUM

ONCE UPON A TIME IN KOTA TINGGI HISTORICAL MUSEUM – A place where we are enable to discover the wealth of Johor’s historical heritage. The Museum was officially opened on 29th February 2004 by D.Y.A.M. Tunku Ibrahim Ismail Ibni Sultan Iskandar. The museum displays a vast variety of ethnological displays, natural history exhibits, traditional weaponry, traditional musical instruments, embroidery, costumes and ceramic artifacts from the 19th century to the present and has the most historical reference to the Johor Sultanate. Here are our photos of a very precious and memorable time there.

Splendid learning journey to The Royal Sultan Abu Bakar Heritage Museum

Our P2 outdoor expedition was held on Saturday 7th August and Sunday 8th August at the Royal Sultan Abu Bakar Heritage Museum. It was interesting to discover the richness and early history of Malay culture, heritage and the glory of the Sultan of Johor. Then, at the end of the trip, the children had the wonderful experience of a visit to the General Post Office to send their self-made postcards to themselves.

Getting there - Jln Tan Hiok Nee, one of the oldest streets in Johor Bahru City to enjoy a different life style and to mark a page of history into our memories.

Page One Academy students had a chance to visit the Johor Bahru Chinese Heritage Museum on 31st July and 01st August 2010. The objective was to let the children sample stories of our ancestors, understand their efforts in the past and learn how to treasure and care for the things we now have.

走入幽幽老城区，签一页历史点滴。
启页美术学院的学生在7月31日和8月1日参观了新山华族历史文物馆。体会历史的变迁，了解先辈过去的建设，让孩子们更懂得珍惜现在所拥有的。我们也走了一趟陈旭年街，体验繁华中的慢步调，感染古色古香的历史气息。

About JARO

The Johore Area Rehabilitation Organization (JARO) is a registered charity which manages 3 sheltered workshops catering to the rehabilitation requirements of the physically and mentally challenged. It aims to start a new lease of life for people to create a sense of independence and to reposition themselves with dignity in the mainstream of society. This positive attitude that JARO instills in them enables them to live a normal working life with pride and confidence.

JARO assists by acting as a collection and marketing centre. Through its training schemes in bookbinding, basketry, tailoring and handicrafts, JARO sells its products in our gift shop.

JARO's work people enjoy the benefits of monthly pay, EPF, SOCSO, meal and travel allowances. JARO currently has a total of 63 work people, the majority of them married with families and school-going children. Out of this number, only seven people are not disabled.

Established in 1928, Zoo Johor is the place to meet flamingos, elephants, horses and much more.

The late Johor King, Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Abu Bakar, established the zoo and called it an 'animal garden'. It was believed to be the first zoo in Asia at the time.

The name of the zoo was later changed to Zoo Johor and is now under the administration of the Johor State Government.

Get a glimpse of the friendly love birds from Africa, or stare into the large eyes of the ferocious lioness. Smile at the huge, silent crocodiles, and take a stroll around the lake at the zoo.

每一年的评鉴活动，我们都对小朋友们说：“孩子不用怕，别把评鉴活动当考试，虽然，即使是考试也不用害怕。评鉴活动没有所谓的及格或不及格，而是让参与者在这短短的时间内检视自己在学习上的领悟与成果，以便在未来的学习中提出更多的看法。”这是我们教育工作者应传承给孩子的正面思想。

每一年的评鉴活动对我们来说也是一项挑战，一年复一年的坚持，坚持将我们的相信变成行动，纵然间中有许多酸甜苦辣的片断；一年复一年的成长，孩子的成长、老师的成长以及学院的成长。不仅是孩子们的自我检视，学院、老师也细细的检视课程及教学上的不足，改进再改进，持续并延伸发展，以期让我们的美术教育课程更全面地发挥功能。

在这个悠长的6月学校假期，正当其他的孩子们还在家中赖床时，我们的孩子们已出发前往新山Pasir Gudang 的风筝博物馆，探索各国的风筝和学习风筝的制作过程。孩子们在长达9个小时的行程中参与丰富的节目，参观博物馆、风筝制作、野餐、寻宝奇兵、装置艺术制作等，都叫老师和孩子们大呼过瘾！在此与您分享《童梦飞扬生活营》的欢乐时光，让我们一同记录孩子成长的每一页。

What will your children do during a long school term holiday? Well, our children just had fun through learning in June. In this exploration of the culture and history of kites in Malaysia, our children learnt while they played. It was very exciting running in the fresh green field and flying the kites which they made themselves, the treasure hunt, picnic, and installation art. For the past several years, IMCAS have been involved in making art popular in our country. This year they made Johoreans proud when they decided to hold their art show in Johor Bahru. As we are also concerned about every thing related to art, this was a great opportunity for our children to experience fine art. With our teachers’ effort, our children paid a visit to IMCAS’ interactive audio-visual show, enjoying the adventurous journey.

今天的社会走进了全球化、资讯科技发达的年代，
资讯流传的太快太便利，冲淡了人与人之间的互动与关爱，
也因此促使新一代因迷恋流性文化及物质的追求而迷失了自己，
对自我的认识、自我的定位越来越不确定，不清晰了。。。。

如果我们问孩子：
“你是谁？”
“你有怎样的个性？”
“你有什么特征和特长？”
“你有些什么能力？”
十个有九个孩子答不上来。

教育应是随着时代的变迁与需要而改变，
美术教育的意义也已不再是色彩与点线面；
“我是谁？”让孩子有机会思考潜伏内心的思想和情感

让作者与观者一起做个自我内心的游览。

The globalization and technology eras has brought great convenience to us. As a result, we have lost the human touch in relationships, living lives without love and kindness. We are also lost in the chase for materialistic thing in the world. Its no wonder we often find our lives without purpose.

Questions we often ask our children:
1. Who are you?
2. What kind of character you which to have in your life?
3. What are your strengths and weaknesses?
4. What are your abilities?
5. what is our moral values in lives?

Do you think our children or even ourselves have answers to the above questions?

Education is the key to “Who Am I” especially through art education. Art should not be defined in terms of colors, lines and forms only. Through this exhibition we will attempts to give children ability to express and question their inner thoughts. It will be a platform for them to better discover and understand themselves.

Goals:
1. To promote the value of art education in society.
2. To create awareness of alternative values of education as perceived today.
3. To enhance self-awareness, appreciation and gratitude of life.

The following are some of the art work on displayed:
Sketch, water color, crayon, pencil, print, paper vulture, mix medium and so on.

Sometimes we have forgotten that
There were roots gripping strong, firmly in the earth,
Although it cannot see the most beautiful scenery in a higher place,
They supply nutrients silently, paying out noiselessly,
So do parents in a family;
Children must learn to be grateful,
Grateful because of their roots.

A pair of hands can help the society. The pair of hands that nurtured all of us is the hands of a mother. All the mothers in the world are not bothered about the differences between the races and the colors of the skin. They unconditionally love their children, and willingly protect them through storms and heavy rains.

In this drawing, a group of children are happily playing football together. The expressions and movement of the human figures are very lively, especially with the addition of shadows. 这幅画所说的是位以捕鱼谋生的渔夫。他们不管风吹雨打，都还是如此辛勤工作，为的是让家人不愁吃，不愁穿。渔夫在我们的生活里扮演着重要的角色，因为有渔夫所以我们才能有鱼可吃。 This drawing tells about the fishermen. Regardless of the storm, rain and big waves, they kept on working, fulfilling their duty. All these are for the sake of providing for their family. Fishermen thus indeed, play an important role in our lives. Thanks to these fishermen, we have fishes on our tables.

社会上在工作的人，包罗万象，小朋友以描绘渔夫捕鱼的辛劳勤快来表达很独特。尤其构图大胆，画面布局生动。着色纯朴，画笔流畅，使整个画面动起来。(曾华清校长点评) Working people in the society is made up of many kinds. This student chose to draw out this title in a way that showed how hardworking fishermen are. The drawing is daring and lively. 在光与影之间

这是一间监狱，影代表恶，光代表善(监狱的影子)鞋子就代表犯人，有的在这光与影之中,(左鞋)会回头改过,但也有的却是执迷不悟(右鞋).
This is the shadow in a jail. Shadow symbolizes evil while the brightness symbolizes goodness. The pair of shoes is the prisoner. Between darkness and brightness, evil and good, there is always a choice. The left shoe is able to change for the better while the right shoe shall remain unchanged, dwelling in the darkness, the evil side.

作品中的一双鞋子的形态象征着人们对善恶选择取向，有迎向光明，也有执迷不悟。在盐仓下的光与影突显了邪恶分明，但在乎的是人自己的选择。作者能以平凡的一双鞋子来塑造出独特的善恶概念，艺术创意就在此。(梁志芬老师点评)
A pair of shoes symbolizes the choice in each of us, one to change for the better and goodness, the other to remain on the evil side; the darkness. The usage of bright and dark effectively brought out the choice between good and evil. Yet, in the end it is our own choice that determines on which side we are. This student used a simple object; a pair of shoes to bring out such a deep meaning, this is indeed creativity in arts at its best. (Ms. Leung Chi-fan, Catharine)

“我希望，通过美术活动中的绘本创作结合寻根系列的主题，让生活在这丰衣足食的现代孩子们心中，撒下感恩的心。。。认知价值的界定。。。情感的释放。。。”前线美育工作者的心里话。

主题：绘本创作之寻根系列
对象：四年级学生（十岁）
目标：
1.教学藉由家的根源为起点，发展情牵祖父母的爱为美育活动单元。
2.课程导向赋予个人情感并结合美术创造，共同发展以达至全人教育的教学取向。

单元一：封面设计

教学重点：
1.探讨主题的表现
2.提升设计元素的知识
3.素材与色系的运用

材料：
1.环保素材
2.古拙色系的纸材
3.手工用具

过程：
寻根系列的绘本创作由“外在美”开始，主题当然是阿公，阿嫲啦！学生们籍由对祖父母的情意，创作出各具特色的封面。学生运用手上现有的材料，经思考后用的特别有情感与协调，充分表现对祖父母的爱。老师发现当激起学生的创作思绪时，学生们心中的创作泉源不断涌现，老师则适时地注入美术设计元素的知识，让学生夹着美丽的翅膀，遨游美育世界。

单元二：剪影

教学重点：
1.人物的形体掌握
2.美学中的阴阳表达
3.刀法的使用法

材料：
1.转印纸
2.祖父母照片复印放大印本
3.色彩纸
4.手工用具

过程：
寻根系列之祖父母的剪影是绘本内页的灵魂主轴。学生将珍贵悠悠难寻的照片，好不容易的从家中那泛黄的相簿中取下，小心翼翼的放进纸带袋，并在父母的千盯万嘱之下带来学校。老师，也打起万二分的精神，小心的将学生所选定的照片依照比例放大并归还给学生。在这堂课里有趣的是，学生都很好奇其他同学祖父母的如山真面目，都争相目睹并开始描述祖父母们的容貌。说也奇怪，平时要他们观察就只是点到为止，但今天却如数家珍了起来，例如：五官的特征，皱纹，发型，衣着等。很好！看来他们已经进入活动单元了！学生们利用转印纸，专心投入地将有关图象描绘于所选的色彩纸上。然后，利用美工刀，分割出阴阳的部分。在这单元里，通过剪影让学生对色彩的对比更为透彻，并能让作品呈现出更具艺术性的重要一环。

单元三：玻璃纸年画

教学重点：
1.物体的掌握
2.正负空间的表达
3.刀法的使用法

材料：
1.玻璃纸
2.彩色卡纸
3.手工用具

过程：
春暖花开，大地一片万象更新，这也是祖父母最爱的一个季节。每当过年，祖父母必备的新年装饰物，那就是---年画。对！这是我们另一个所要发展寻根系列的教学单元。这一次，老师衔接上一堂课的教学,再加强学生们的对正负空间的认知与掌握用刀的技法。同学们，将自己所精心设计的吉祥物图案描绘在彩色卡纸上，保留正面空间，去掉负空间。接着，运用色系中的对比来呈现年画。当作品展示在透明玻璃窗上时，让课室充进美丽色彩的光线与图案，并带有浓郁的佳节气氛，真是美丽喔！
新年，一个欢乐处处，喜气洋洋的温馨佳节。在这顺祝大家：万事如意！

单元四：难忘的角落

教学重点：
1.描绘物体的能力
2.空间的表达能力
3.色彩技巧的能力

材料：
1.水粉
2.画纸
3.彩色用具

过程：
难忘的角落是寻根系列的最后单元，主要是探讨学生与祖父母们之间的难忘记忆再现。学生们从记忆中寻找那遗忘的美好。他们从所带来的照片中有如走进时间的长廊，回到了儿时，在客厅与祖父母一同观看那有笑有泪的剧集；同桌用膳的饭厅；五脚基前的欢乐时光。。。学生们通过情感记忆寻找思情也发现了建筑结构中的透视与物体的空间关系。在色彩上，老师引用了含灰系作为表现旧时记忆的形式。

总结：
受到现今时代的全球教育改革，美术教育也从技能转向更宽阔的形态。美术教育的拓展与深耕，让我们有新的考验与视野。现代美术教育的学习不在以传达单一面向的正统文化知识典型为重要使命，而转为以容纳多元的思考内容与情感性的指导原则。美术教育的学习也从沉闷的教学法，改而以更丰富、活泼与多元的教学法。因此，当今的美术教育工作者不须再继续扮演一个隐身于传统教学法的覆诵者，而是一个极积思考学习内容对学生的兴趣，个别性和全面性意义的启发者和引导者。共勉之。

自从去年十月份开始学院将星期天的课取消之后
发现自己有了多出来的时间
最近也偶尔会溜去写生
走在前往写生的路上又想起了好多过去的事情
坐在树下凉风淅淅树叶的味道
自己哼唱着歌曲心情也获得释放
哈曾经想要放下几天的时间
带着书本和绘画用具，一个人乘船去远航
看来可以去写生
不必去远航也行了
后来想想或许可以留给孩子的还有这些
因此决定每个月的第三个星期天
和孩子们、家长们约定自助写生
为了不想给老师们增加压力
所以是自助写生谁有空就谁来
希望借此让家长与孩子有更多的机会走进大自然
留给孩子一个彩虹般的绮丽愉悦的童年

院长的话 The History of Page One

启页美术学院，从一位老师，一张桌子，三位学生，到目前的约二十位教师，一千两百位学生，我们走过了漫长的十五个年头，有许多学生，从四岁便跟随我学画画，也有些学生的父母曾经是我的学生。孩子的创作，是他们本身潜在的知识和特质，按他们的生理和心理发育而成长，孩子的绘画，犹如一颗种子，它需要充足的阳光、水份、空气和肥沃的土壤，才能按自然程序地成长。我们不可能在他还是一颗种子的时候，要求他省略幼苗的阶段，直接变成小树，又或者在他还未茁壮成长的时候，要求它开花结果。

我们看到有许多家长逐渐重视五育中的美育，了解美育的启智，亦能启德。许多家长开始收集孩子的绘画作品，以观察及研究孩子成长的心路历程。

很庆幸家长们愿意随着资讯的进步而做出改变。更希望我们的社会能放眼全球化的发展，放眼世界，而不再只是关心眼前的名次与成绩，或者是小区域的潮流。多关心孩子的内心世界，和真正属于他们的创作，而不是只重视成品或外在的技巧与色彩。

最后，我祝福大家身体健康，并且伴随孩子天天快乐成长。

Page One Academy started with a teacher, a table and three students fifteen years back. We have come a long way and today, we have about twenty teachers and one thousand two hundred students. Many students have been with Page One since the age of four and even their parents were my former students!

Children’s artworks reflect their potential knowledge, characteristics and attributes, which grow with their physical and mental development. We may draw an analogy between the development of children’s drawing skills and the seedling. Both need to be nurtured and nourished. Seedling needs nourishment of sunshine, water, air and fertile soil to grow while children need attention, care and encouragement to go further, we just can’t skip this “seedling” stage and expect it to bloom or even become a tree overnight.

It is very encouraging to see many parents begin to look at art education seriously nowadays. They begin to understand that art helps stimulate children’s interests in acquiring knowledge and cultivate enquiring minds; build perseverance and confidence as well as moral values. Thus many parents begin to collect their children’s artwork and drawing in order to learn about their children’s mind thereof.

While art education has become one of the major developments in many developed societies in international context, it is great to note the awareness among the parents. We do hope that our society will be more opened to this globalized development whereby academic achievement and school exam results are no longer everything or rather the end of the world. Let’s move beyond to pay more attention to our children’s inner mind through their artworks, and not just appreciate their artworks from the outlook.

台湾第三届亚太艺术教育国际研讨会 3rd International Conference on Asia Pacific Art Education in Taiwan

我院院长荣幸受邀代表马来西亚参与于花莲举行的第三届《亚太艺术教育国际研讨会》专题演讲，与多位国外杰出美术教育界专家同一平台，发表对我国的美术教育的反思及醒觉，令闻者有思维上的激荡与冲击，纷纷于会后与胡牡丹院长发表其看法。

同时我院老师借着这趟由马来西亚少儿美术教育协会筹委会主办的《九天台湾美术教育交流学习团》，与当地前线的美术老师及主任交流，并到台北市立教育大学上课，既有理论，又有实践学习，收获满满。难逢的学术之旅不仅提升个人美术教育水平，同时也拓展老师们的国际视野。

一场丰盛的艺术饷宴，让我们深深体会当代美术教育的进程与新定位。资讯时代即将过去，未来是感性的时代。未来等待的人才，须具有高感度、高体会能力的人；全人教育取向的美术教育将在培育未来等待人才的工作上扮演非常重要角色。让我们一起共创美与新天地！

Our principal, Ms Oh Moo Tan, was invited to represent Malaysia among the many outstanding overseas speakers in the art education field at the third “International Conference on Asia Pacific Art Education” in Hualian. She presented and shared her introspective views and discernment on our country’s art education and its prospects. This is followed by post-conference thought-evoking discussion between the participants and our principal.

The teachers from our academy also participated in this “Nine Days Taiwan Art Education Exchange Program” trip organized by the Malaysian Junior Art Association in which they had art educational exchange with local Taiwanese frontline art educators and directors. Furthermore, our teachers attended workshops at the Taipei University of Education and benefited greatly from both the theoretical and practical aspects of learning. This rare art academic trip has not only increased the individuals’ art education level, but has also broadened their international perspective.

This exchange program has facilitated an immense appreciation for art education which allows us to gain an insight of the progress and standards that contemporary art has reached. The information age would eventually pass and the coming future would welcome an era of highly emotive consciousness. The future talents must possess a high level of intuition and sensitivity, which would play an important role in developing an all-rounded person in the future. Let us create a new page in the upcoming horizons together!

第四届马来西亚少儿美术联合评鉴 4th Malaysian Junior Art Assessment

“第四届马来西亚少儿美术联合评鉴”成绩揭晓，从逾800份参赛作品中脱颖而出的150份优胜作品，将代表我国参与本月底在日本举行的全球联合评鉴。
我们感到非常荣幸请到来自国内外的美术教育工作者参与本次马来西亚少儿美术联合评审，包括上海师范大学艺术与学前教育系主任胡志凡教授、台湾美术教育学会理事曾华清、香港美术教育协会秘书梁志芬、以及槟城理科大学前研究局前任局长金碧霞博士等人。
本届“马来西亚少儿美术联合评鉴”，是由启页美术学院、马乡艺术学院和专业美术学院等单位联合举办。
评审们除了参与评选画作之外，也与本地华小及国中美术老师进行交流，分享教学心得与体验，这样的交流有助于提升本地少儿美术教育工作水平。

Results of the 4th Malaysian Junior Art Assessment were released. 150 pieces of distinctive artworks were awarded Superior Award from overall 800 pieces of artworks. These Superior Award will represent Malaysia in Japan Worldwide Competition at the end of October 2007.

It was an honour to be able to invite art educator from Hong Kong, Taiwan, China as well as Malaysia to be judges in 4th Malaysian Junior Art Assessment.

Malaysia Junior Art Assessment is jointly organized by Page One Academy, Masean Art and Dance Academy and Art Specialist Centre.

Besides judging artworks, art educators also have a short sharing session with our local primary and secondary school art teachers. This sharing session not only exchanged ideas but also helps to improve the quality of our local art education.

我眼中的2008北京奥运会 2008 Olympic Games In My Eye

我院江紫杉、曾婉宁同学荣获《我眼中的2008北京奥运会》国际青少年书画展“银奖”及“一等奖”，并受邀代表马来西亚出席画展开幕礼以及一系列活动，有幸与国外多位得奖者作近距离交流及学习，大大拓展视野，获益良多！！她们也在画展中接受当地媒体的采访，谈及她们对创作作品的感想。

而我院也荣获由当局颁发的“优秀组织奖”，再次肯定老师们的努力。主办单位更对我们送件参展作品的水平感到震撼，并极度表扬孩子们的创作不仅仅强调技巧，画作中也融入了美学及本土文化元素，让海外参观者了解更多本地美术创作的特色与风格。

Our students, Kang Zi Shan and Cheng Wan Ning won the Silver and First Prizes respectively in the International Youth Art Exhibition entitled "2008 Olympic Games In My Eye". They were invited as the Malaysian representatives to attend the opening ceremony and other activities. We were honoured to be able to exchange ideas and learned from other international representatives. Our students were also invited by the local media to express themselves about their artworks.

In addition, our Academy were awarded "The Excellent Organizer’s Prize"; once again it has given affirmation on our teachers’ hard work. The organization was astonished at our children’s artwork, and they expressed that our artworks not only emphasizes on drawing skills but has also imported the art aesthetics and local culture values in them…

2006年12月，本院院长受邀于《第六届海峡两岸美术教育交流会》中发表论文，并刊登于该届《论文集》中。
胡牡丹院长深感荣幸有机会与370位来自中、港、台、澳、美国、日本、新加坡及马来西亚美术界的专家学者分享我院的教学研究和成果。
会中胡院长发表我院如何采用先进教学方式将美术教育重新定位，并体现融合的功能，其报告深受会员们的认同。
这不但肯定了我院全体老师的努力，更肯定我院家长的支持，也同时肯定了小朋友们的天赋。
让我们为造福下一代而努力，共创美好的明天！！

The principal of Page One Academy, Ms Oh Moo Tan were invited to present her thesis in the 6th Annual Cross-Strait Art Education Congress which were then published in the symposium.
The principal, Ms Oh Moo Tan was given the honour to share the research finding and accomplishment in art education of Page One Academy with 370 art educators and practitioners from Asia and the United States.
During the convention, Ms Oh gave a talk on how to implement advanced techniques and approaches in art education.
She received profound agreement from members.
Their acknowledgement has not only given affirmation to our teachers’ hard work but also the parents’ support as well as children’s talent.
Let us work together for the future generation with a better tomorrow!

本院院长胡牡丹女士于2005年12月荣幸受香港保良局邀请担任由香港保良局联合香港教育统筹局，香港教育学院，香港美术教育协会及香港教育城协会协办〈2005年国际物理年美术设计创作比赛〉世界总审之评审嘉宾，该评审团由三位来自中、台及东南亚之艺术教育界人士组成，本院院长有幸成为东南亚区代表，评赏来自世界各地的少儿美术作品，开拓视野，回馈本土。

The 2005 International Year of Physics Art and Design Competition was held in December, at Hong Kong. Organized by the Po Leung Kuk, and co-organized by the Education and Manpower Bureau of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Hong Kong Institute of Education, the Hong Kong Society for Education in Art and HKed City. This prestigious event had the honour of inviting art educators from China, Taiwan and S.E. Asia as panel judges. Whose main task were to assess children artworks from all over the world. Page One Academy, Principal Ms Oh Moo Tan were both proud and honoured to be the sole representative as guest panelist form the region of S.E. Asia.

2005年8月中旬，本院院长及多位老师受邀出席在上海举行的“海峡两岸美术交流会”。
院长及老师们都倍感荣幸有机会与200多名来自海峡两岸、美国、及新加坡的美术教育专家一起畅谈美术教育要如何实践“以人为本”的教育理念。
老师们更确定我院的教学先进并适合全球化时代的孩子们。
我们也展望未来美术教育发展对我国学子“全人教育”的影响。
希望我院的老师，学生及家长一起同步成长。
除此之外，本院学生也参与了该会所主办的“两岸四地，情系华夏”学生美术创作展，并深获好评。
频频看见两岸四地专家学者在该展区摄影及咨询，表现对我院的课程规划，设计及小朋友的创作深感兴趣。
这更肯定了老师们的付出与孩子们的努力！

During mid-August of 2005, the Principal of Page One Academy together with several other teachers was invited to attend the 5th Annual Cross-Strait Art Education Symposium.
Our principal and the teachers involved were honoured to be among the approximately 200 art educators from China, Taiwan, United States and Singapore. One of the purposes of the symposium is to exchange ideas on how to further develop humanism for our future generation.
Our teachers are now more confident in their belief for the advancement of art education in today’s globalized era.
We also look forward to the development of art education for the future of our Malaysian students.
We hope that our students, teachers and parents would grow together in this process of art education.
Our students also participated in the China-Taiwan Art Education Congress Students’ Exhibition, and received rare reviews.
We also noticed that many educators and scholars from various countries were very interested in our form of art education and would most likely adopt our syllabus.

Chua Ren Jie student of Page One Academy; winner of the 2004 “Festival of Asian Children’s Art” Grand Prize Award; was also the sole representative from Malaysia to attend the Aichi World Exposition in Japan.

2005年6月中旬，本院院长胡牡丹女士受邀担任第36届世界儿童美术评审委员，并与其他国家的艺术教育界人士作交流会。院长很荣幸有机会参与台北市国中国小教师研习营，及共同探讨左右脑绘画对幼儿脑半球的开发。胡牡丹院长希望借此机会学习更多的知识回馈本地社会，并有效的教育我们的下一代。

Page One Academy Principal, Ms. Oh Moo Tan was selected as one of the international judges for the 36th World School Children’s Art Exhibition held in Taiwan, on June 2005. She also feels honoured to have participated in the Primary and Secondary School-level Teachers’ Education Seminar in Taipei. She hope to share and import what she had learn in Taiwan to the children and art education here.
